Şili’nin eski diktatörü Augusto Pinochet, ölümünden önce yazdığı ve bugün yayınlanan bir mektubunda 1973 yılındaki darbeyi ve 17 yıllık iktidarı sırasında düzeni sağlamak için kullanılan yöntemleri savundu.

10 Aralık’ta 91 yaşında ölen eski diktatör Augusto Pinochet, mektubunda, Şili’nin, muhalifler ve devrilen sosyalist Devlet Başkanı Salvador Allende’nin destekçileri arasındaki bir iç savaşa sürüklenmesini önlemek için 11 Eylül 1973’te darbeyi yaptığını söyledi
